Lets hear it for our Bees! Lets here it for our Fans! I am so grateful to God we have a crop set on the trees this year. The good news is that though the blossom stage is absolutely magical and smells amazing what we really need is really aggressive pollination from our bees, some sunshiny days or we will have no crop on the trees for the upcoming harvest. Here are some pictures that I snapped around the orchard showing our little baby fruitlets and coming harvest.
We still have to get through the infamous "June drop" where the fruit trees naturally do some thinning and the trees will literally drop a portion of their baby fruitlets onto the ground. Even still I am full of much hope and anticipate a great crop ahead of us. Each year is of course different and as farmers we are at the mercy of many different factors that can dramatically affect the coming crop and health of the tree
Thank you to everyone who has been praying for warm nights, for our bees to be prolific, for our electric fans to keep the temperatures up in the evenings and for an abundant crop this year. I am so grateful to see the evidence of every thing coming together when I look around the farm and I truly am a grateful farmer.
