I personally invite you all out these next few weekends in October to come apple picking at Mt. View Orchards. Now is time of year to gather your friends and family and make the lovely trip out to our small old fashioned farm located at the base of the majestic Mt. Hood. All the leaves on the farm are turning golden, deep burgundy, bright red or school bus yellow so it is a picturesque time of year as your walk through our farm or go for a hay ride around the perimeter of our farm. We grow over 50 different kinds of apples and they are ready to be picked this month. Come for an apple picking party this weekend and take home some of the tastiest apples around. We are having an endless summer this Autumn and the weather is going to be warm again this weekend so pack up a picnic lunch and plan to come pick some farm fresh apples today.
We are so grateful for the many local customers who come each week to buy fresh fruit from our orchard. It really means the world to us and my heart is always so full of gratitude when our farming family shows up to support us and keep us going. Our fruit stand is open 7 days a week till November 3nd, 2014 and our hours are from 9-5pm. Our address is 6670 trout creek ridge Rd, Mount Hood-Parkdale Oregon 97041 mtvieworchards@gmail.com

(We also have some of the sweetest blueberries we have ever sold on the farm right now and its not to late to get some. But they are the last of the season so hurry on up friends if you want to freeze some for the coming year.)
Teaching your children where there fruit comes from and what an apple tree looks like is very key to their awareness of why we need small family farms and farmers. Small family farms are sadly on the decline and the only way for farmers to maintain their land is by having loyal customers that for go getting their fruit at big box stores but chose to buy directly from their farmer. Thank you for choosing to partner with us and helping to save the family farm.
